Arunachal Police Arrests Man for Forging Deputy Commissioner’s Signature

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh police have arrested a 31-year-old man for allegedly forging the signature of Kurung Kumey Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vishakha Yadav in a case that has raised concerns over official document fraud.

The accused, identified as Bengia Mangkung, a resident of Tai Village, Sarli, was apprehended on March 12 from Papunallah after an investigation into Case No. 01/2025, registered under sections 336(3) and 338 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Koloriang police station. The investigation, led by Inspector Tailyang Bukar, revealed that Mangkung confessed to forging the DC’s signature.

The case underscores growing concerns about the misuse of official documents for fraudulent purposes. Kurung Kumey SP Bomken Basar has urged the public to refrain from resorting to illegal shortcuts for financial gains, stressing the importance of ethical and legal practices in all dealings.
