Arunachal Polls: CEO Ropes in Media for Seamless Information Flow

Itanagar– In a significant move to bolster election-related communication and voter awareness, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Pawan Kumar Sain, convened a crucial meeting today with the Director of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) and a diverse group of media representatives. The gathering, held at Nirvachan Bhawan, saw participation from print, electronic, and social media platforms, alongside the Joint CEO and Deputy CEO, underscoring the collaborative spirit intended for the upcoming electoral processes.

CEO Sain commenced the meeting by expressing his profound gratitude for the unwavering support extended by the DIPR and the media fraternity in ensuring the timely and accurate dissemination of information to the public. He underscored the media’s indispensable role in fostering an informed electorate, reiterating that elections are intricate affairs whose ramifications extend far beyond the ballot box, directly influencing national governance.

A pivotal outcome of the deliberations was the proposal to establish a dedicated election news section within the DIPR. This initiative aims to streamline communication channels between electoral authorities and the citizenry, ensuring that vital information reaches every corner of the state effectively. Consequently, the IPR director was tasked with appointing an officer to oversee this specialized section and to furnish their contact details to the CEO’s office without delay.

Further enriching the discussion, Deputy CEO Shania Kayem Mize apprised attendees of a forthcoming national-level media workshop orchestrated by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in New Delhi on July 7. Arunachal Pradesh has been allocated ten coveted slots for this insightful event, and media houses were earnestly requested to submit their nominations to the IPR director by June 20. The CEO concluded the session by emphasizing the paramount importance of relying solely on verified information, urging all stakeholders to diligently follow the official social media handles of both the ECI and the state CEO for authentic updates.
