Northeast Desk, 7th April: In a determined bid to address long-standing issues plaguing Lower Mebo, People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) candidate Oken Tayeng, alongside former MLA Ralom Borang, has pledged to prioritize development initiatives, particularly focusing on infrastructure improvements.
During an extensive campaign tour spanning Gadum-I, Gadum-II, Mer, Namsing, and Kongkul villages, Tayeng assured residents of his commitment to tackle pressing issues such as the lack of proper roads, bridges, and flood control measures along the River Siang.
Emphasizing the plight of locals reliant on ferry services due to the absence of a bridge over the river Taro-Tamak, Tayeng empathized with the challenges faced by residents and vowed to push for the construction of a bridge to alleviate their hardships. He pledged unwavering efforts to lobby both state and central governments for the timely completion of this crucial infrastructure project.
Former MLA Ralom Borang echoed Tayeng’s sentiments, stressing the need for tangible progress in addressing infrastructure deficiencies. Borang recounted his efforts during his tenure from 2009 to 2014 and urged Tayeng to prioritize the completion of projects stalled under the current MLA.
Addressing concerns over the prevalence of the money culture in elections, Borang urged voters to resist undue influence and prioritize the welfare of their constituency. He emphasized the need for collective action and cautioned against betraying the future generation for short-term gains.
Monggu Banggo ZPM Gumin Tayeng echoed similar sentiments, advocating for a fresh approach under the leadership of Oken Tayeng. The campaign event also garnered support from retired officers and prominent figures from Namsing village, highlighting the community’s determination to ensure the constituency’s development under Tayeng’s leadership.
