Arunachal Pradesh Achieves Milestone with India’s First Dedicated Crude Palm Oil Mills

Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh: In a landmark development for its agricultural sector, Arunachal Pradesh has etched its name in history as the first Indian state to establish dedicated Crude Palm Oil (CPO) infrastructure. The inauguration of two state-of-the-art CPO mills in Roing and Ruksin marks a pivotal moment, signalling a significant leap forward in the state’s journey towards agricultural self-reliance and economic growth.

This groundbreaking achievement coincides with the unveiling of the Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Policy 2025–35, a comprehensive roadmap designed to steer sustainable and inclusive growth within the agricultural domain over the coming decade. The policy’s strategic objectives are poised to revolutionise farming practices and enhance farmer livelihoods across the state.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, through his official X handle, elaborated on the broader vision underpinning these initiatives. He highlighted the launch of the Agriculture Policy 2025-35 as a foundational element for fostering sustainable growth. Furthermore, he drew attention to the ongoing Millet, Buckwheat, and Honey Missions, which are actively empowering local farmers and diversifying agricultural output. The Chief Minister proudly announced a record-breaking food grain production, soaring to an impressive 5,19,703 metric tonnes. In a move to bolster agri-logistics and significantly curtail post-harvest losses, plans are also underway for the construction of cold storages and warehouses in close proximity to the Itanagar and Tezu Airports.

Collectively, these pioneering initiatives are set to forge a robust pathway towards farmer empowerment, increased income generation, and assured food security for the people of Arunachal Pradesh. The state’s forward-thinking approach is not only expected to transform its own agri-economy but also to serve as an inspiring blueprint for agri-led economic rejuvenation across the entire Northeast region and beyond.
