Arunachal Pradesh Boosts Minimum Wages for Workers Effective April 2025

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh government has declared a significant increase in minimum wages for contingent employees, casual workers, and labourers across the state, set to take effect from April 1, 2025. This decision aims to bolster the financial well-being and recognize the indispensable contributions of these workers.

The revised wage structure will encompass both unskilled and skilled workers employed under the state government, ensuring a broader impact. In a move to address the challenges faced by those working in remote areas, the government has also introduced a special allowance of Rs 500 per month for workers in officially designated difficult regions.

This latest order supersedes a previous directive issued on December 13, 2023, signaling the government’s dedication to promoting fairness, dignity, and improved living standards for its workforce. The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh has officially signed the order, marking a pivotal moment in the state’s efforts to support its labour force.

Adding a unique provision, employees working for Arunachal Pradesh government or semi-government organizations outside the state will be entitled to receive wages higher than the new Arunachal Pradesh rates, if the minimum wages in those respective states or union territories are higher. All other existing service conditions and benefits for contingent employees and labourers will remain unchanged.
