Arunachal Pradesh Celebrates International Day of Yoga Across Picturesque Locations

Northeast Desk, 21st June: Arunachal Pradesh marked the 10th International Day of Yoga with grand celebrations held at various scenic spots across the state. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao, and Dr. Mahesh Chai MLA Tezu-Sunpura joined dignitaries at Parshuram Kund, overlooking the Lohit River, for a unique yoga session organized by the Lohit District Administration and the 181 Mountain Brigade, Lohitpur.

In East Kameng district, the District Ayush Mission Society led celebrations under the theme “Yoga for Self and Society” in Seppa town. MLA Ealing Tallang urged youths to embrace yoga and sports for a healthy body and peaceful mind at the event held in Bebo Colony.

Meanwhile, at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar, Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) presided over a vibrant yoga session attended by NCC cadets, Bharat Scouts and Guides, students, teachers, and Raj Bhavan officials. Emphasizing the global reach of yoga and its benefits in promoting mental peace and physical fitness, Governor Parnaik encouraged regular yoga practice among all age groups. He distributed yoga booklets to participants, underscoring the importance of integrating yoga into daily life for enhanced productivity and well-being.

The Governor advocated for yoga classes in educational institutions and training for Physical Training Instructors in yoga, aiming to foster a culture of health and positivity throughout the state.

These celebrations underscored Arunachal Pradesh’s commitment to embracing yoga as a pathway to holistic health and well-being, resonating with the spirit of International Day of Yoga observed worldwide.
