Arunachal Pradesh Emphasizes Education Reform, Seeks NITI Aayog’s Support
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein, underscored the state’s commitment to educational reform during the inaugural session of the Regional NeVolution Education Workshop. The event, held in Itanagar, focused on improving foundational literacy and numeracy in Northeastern states, Jammu & Kashmir, and Jharkhand.
Mein highlighted the significance of providing quality education to every child, emphasizing that it is a cornerstone for a brighter future. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the region, including low literacy rates and inadequate infrastructure, and expressed confidence that the workshop would provide solutions to address these issues.
The Deputy CM praised NITI Aayog’s role in supporting Arunachal Pradesh’s development goals, particularly in the education sector. He highlighted the state’s significant progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu, including substantial investments in education infrastructure and initiatives like the ARUN SHRI Mission.
Dr. Arvind Virmani, a member of NITI Aayog, emphasized the potential of technology to revolutionize education in remote areas. He advocated for integrating digital tools and job-oriented skill training into the curriculum to enhance learning outcomes and equip students for the future.
The workshop brought together experts, officials, and development partners to discuss strategies for improving education KPIs in aspirational districts and blocks. By focusing on foundational skills, digital literacy, and skill development, the participants aimed to create a more inclusive and effective education system in the region.
