Arunachal Pradesh: Floods Due To Cloudburst Wreak Havoc In Tirap

Guwahati: A major cloudburst in the Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh recently caused floods that interrupted daily life in the region.

The connectivity between various villages in the district has apparently been badly disrupted as a result of the floods, which has significantly impacted road-based communication in the area.

The Tirap districts’ Deomali and Namsang have reportedly suffered the most damage.

Moreover, the floodwaters in the district have completely flooded low-lying regions.

In addition, flood water is still having an impact on the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and upper primary school in Deomali, Noksan, and Batey regions.

Tea gardens and fish ponds were damaged as a result of the floods, according to farmers in the area who reported suffering significant losses.

However, thus far, no fatalities or injuries related to the region’s floods caused by a cloudburst have been reported.

Reports also stated that authorities had encouraged residents of the area to remain cautious as flood levels had begun to decrease as of Sunday evening.

According to Taro Mize, the deputy commissioner of Tirap in Arunachal Pradesh, Deomali and its neighbouring villages were impacted by a cloudburst. There has been restoration work. The departments of SDRF, PWD, and Water Resources have been engaged in both recovery and rescue efforts.

“At this time, we are unable to estimate the losses and damages. The losses and damages brought on by the floods have been taken care of by Deomali ADC, he added.
