Arunachal Pradesh Forest and Environment Team Honored at 76th Republic Day Celebrations
Itanagar: A five-member delegation from Arunachal Pradesh’s Forest and Environment Department made a significant mark at the 76th Republic Day celebrations held at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, in recognition of their dedicated efforts towards forest and wildlife conservation.
The team was invited as special guests for their contributions to environmental sustainability.
The distinguished delegation included Maksam Tayeng, Sonali Perme, Lobsang Tashi Thungon, Karma Chozom, and Tenzing Norbu Thongdok, who were selected by the office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (WL & BD)-cum-Chief Wildlife Warden of Arunachal Pradesh.
Their presence at the event, representing Arunachal Pradesh, emphasized the state’s active role in promoting ecological balance and protecting natural habitats.
Maksam Tayeng, the Chairman of the Eco-Development Committee-cum-Community Surveillance & Monitoring Team from the D. Ering Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary in Pasighat, was the lead representative of the team.
Their participation in the Republic Day celebration is a testament to the region’s commitment to the vision of Swarnim Bharat (Golden India) and its active contribution to national environmental goals.
The following day, the delegation had a productive meeting with Bhupender Yadav, the Union Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
During this session, the team engaged in constructive discussions on conservation strategies, climate change adaptation, and the latest environmental policies, further strengthening the ties between the state and the Union Ministry in promoting sustainability.
