Arunachal Pradesh: Kiren Rijiju Dismisses Reports of Chinese Encroachment

Northeast Desk, 10th September: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju clarified that the painting of marks in undemarcated areas of Arunachal Pradesh does not imply encroachment by China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA). His statement follows reports of PLA incursions in the Anjaw district of the state.

Rijiju, hailing from Arunachal Pradesh, acknowledged that overlapping patrols by Indian and Chinese forces occur along the undemarcated Sino-Indian border but emphasized that such activities do not equate to territorial encroachment.

“China can’t take our land,” Rijiju said, addressing concerns about PLA presence in the Kapapu area, where traces of bonfires and Chinese materials were allegedly found. He assured that Indian forces maintain strict vigilance, preventing the construction of any permanent structures in the region.
