Itanagar: In a landmark move set to redefine the future of its young populace, the Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet has officially launched the Arunachal Pradesh State Youth Policy 2025. This comprehensive and action-oriented framework is designed to empower the state’s youth, celebrate its rich cultural heritage, and act as a catalyst for socio-economic growth.
Described as a dynamic roadmap, the policy lays out nine ambitious Youth Development Goals. These goals focus on key areas such as ensuring quality education, fostering sustainable employment, driving innovation, and promoting holistic health and well-being. It also puts a strong emphasis on sports and adventure, cultural expression, the preservation of biodiversity, and encouraging civic engagement to build a safe and inclusive society for all.
A significant aspect of the policy is its focus on creating equal opportunities for both rural and urban youth. It seeks to achieve a critical balance between equipping young people with modern skills while also honouring and preserving deep-rooted traditional knowledge systems. Furthermore, by positioning Arunachal as a prime destination for sports and adventure tourism, the policy aims to harness the state’s magnificent natural landscape to boost youth involvement in this rapidly expanding sector.
A central pillar of this new strategy is a unique Government–NGO–Community partnership model. This collaborative approach is designed to ensure that the policy is implemented effectively and inclusively at the grassroots level, with a strong focus on accountability.
Officials hailed the policy as a major paradigm shift in the state’s approach to youth development. They emphasised that it clearly reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to empowering every young Arunachalee to learn, lead, and make a meaningful contribution to the state and the nation.
