Arunachal Pradesh: NSCN (K-YA) Cadres Abduct 2 Labourers from Makeshift Camp in Longding District
Northeast Desk, 16th November: In a concerning incident, three armed cadres belonging to the militant group NSCN (K-YA) reportedly abducted two civil labourers from a makeshift labour camp near Tisa River on the Kunsa Pongchau road in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The abduction occurred around 4 am and the victims, identified as Shashank Yadav from Uttar Pradesh and Lemgaw Gowam from Nginu village, were taken to Kunno zero point in a Bolero pickup truck.
The armed cadres allegedly disengaged the vehicle at Kunnu, proceeding towards the Indo-Myanmar border.
Shashank Yadav and Lemgaw Gowam were employed under Shatrughan Singh for the BTRF Project. The individuals responsible for the kidnapping have been identified as Ss Lt.Col Botai Wangsu and Ss Lt.Abojak Wangnow of the NSCN K-YA Fraction.
Local authorities and security forces are actively engaged in efforts to secure the release of the abducted labourers and apprehend those involved in the incident.
