Arunachal Pradesh Police Recover Missing Phone from Rajasthan
Itanagar: Papu Hills Police have successfully located and recovered a missing mobile phone that was reported from Pachin Colony in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh, tracing it all the way to the state of Rajasthan.
The diligent efforts of Constable Pappu Halder led to the recovery of the device, culminating in the phone being returned to its rightful owner after more than a month since it was reported lost.
The case originated on March 10, 2025, when Shri Chandan Kumar, a resident of Pachin Colony, lodged a formal complaint at the Papu Hills Police Station concerning his missing mobile phone. Constable Pappu Halder was subsequently entrusted with the task of tracing and retrieving the lost device following the initial procedural checks.
Leveraging the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR), the details of the missing phone were uploaded as per protocol. Through persistent technical tracking, the location of the handset was pinpointed in Rajasthan. Constable Halder then established communication with the individual holding the phone and skillfully convinced them to return it willingly. The recovered mobile phone was subsequently dispatched to Assam through the postal service, India Post.
Upon its arrival in Assam, the parcel containing the recovered phone was received through a reliable intermediary and safely transported to the Papu Hills Police Station. On April 18, 2025, the mobile phone was officially handed back to a relieved Shri Chandan Kumar.
Superintendent of Police, Naharlagun, Mihin Gambo, IPS, lauded the proactive approach and professional conduct of Constable Halder in successfully recovering the lost device.
