Arunachal Pradesh: Tiger or Leopard Presence Detected in Jote; Authorities Issue Precautionary Warning

The Poma Wildlife Range Office in Arunachal Pradesh has issued an alert following the discovery of tiger or leopard footprints near the Jote Market area. In a public notice, foresters Tadang Rai and Sali Sengo of the Arunachal Pradesh Forest Department (APFD) urged residents to take precautions to ensure their safety.

The advisory includes key safety measures:

  • Avoid venturing outdoors during nighttime hours.
  • Exercise caution during outdoor activities such as picnics or jungle camps.
  • Report any unusual wildlife sightings immediately to the authorities.

“This is to inform all concerned that the Poma Wildlife Range Office has issued a warning regarding the presence of a tiger or leopard in Jote. Footprints have been found near the Jote Market area. Therefore, the undersigned directs all the concerned to take precautionary measures,” the public notice reads.

Residents in the region have been urged to remain vigilant and avoid any activities that might increase the risk of wildlife encounters. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and have advised the public to report sightings to ensure prompt action.
