Arunachal Pradesh’s Hillang Yajik to Represent India in Prestigious International Bodybuilding Championships
Northeast Desk, 13th May: Arunachal Pradesh’s Hillang Yajik has achieved a remarkable feat by securing a coveted spot to represent India in two esteemed international championships: the 56th Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship, 2024, and the 15th WBPF World Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship, 2024.
The rigorous selection trials, organized jointly by the Indian Body Builders Federation and the Bodybuilding Association of Kerala, unfolded in Ernakulam, Kochi, on May 11 and 12. Demonstrating exceptional prowess and determination, Hillang Yajik, hailing from the Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh, emerged as a standout contender during these trials.
Yanu Kipa, the acting general secretary of the Arunachal Bodybuilding Association, affirmed Hillang Yajik’s participation in the women’s model physique and swimsuit women’s physique categories at the upcoming international championships. This prestigious recognition serves as a testament to Yajik’s unwavering dedication and remarkable talent in the domain of bodybuilding and physique sports.
The 56th Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship is slated to unfold in Batam, Indonesia, from August 6 to 12, attracting elite athletes from across Asia to showcase their skills and compete for glory. Following this, the 15th WBPF World Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship is scheduled to transpire in Maldives from November 5 to 11, offering a global platform for top-tier competitors to vie for prestigious titles.
Hillang Yajik’s remarkable journey to these international stages follows her recent triumph in the 13th Federation Cup, where she clinched a silver medal in the women’s sports physique category. As she prepares to represent the nation on the global stage, Yajik’s achievements serve as an inspiration to aspiring athletes nationwide.
