Arunachal: Republic Day Celebrated with Grandeur at Buddha Stadium in Bomdila

Itanagar: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and grandeur at Buddha Stadium, Bomdila, and across other sub-divisions of West Kameng District.

The event featured vibrant cultural performances by various tribes and an impressive display of parade contingents, showcasing the region’s rich diversity.

West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Akriti Sagar (IAS) unfurled the National Flag, marking the occasion in the presence of the Superintendent of Police, department heads, PRI leaders, and a large gathering of the district’s residents.

In her address, Sagar underlined the importance of Republic Day as a celebration of India’s democratic values and achievements.

She also highlighted the district’s developmental strides and commended the collaborative efforts of the administration and the public in fostering progress.

Addressing the issue of rising narcotics consumption, Sagar expressed deep concern and urged the youth to stay away from such substances.

She appealed to farmers and the community to refrain from cultivating cannabis, warning of its detrimental impact on the future of younger generations.

The Deputy Commissioner lauded the West Kameng Police Department for their unwavering commitment to combating the drug menace.

She praised their relentless efforts in curbing narcotics-related activities, ensuring a safer environment for the district’s residents.

As part of the celebrations, awards were presented to the best cultural troupes, parade contingents, and exhibition stalls, recognising their contributions to the vibrant festivities.

The day concluded with a sense of unity and pride, reflecting the collective spirit of the district in celebrating the nation’s 76th Republic Day.
