Guwahati: The BJP has won 102 of those seats without facing any opposition in Arunachal Pradesh, where elections for 130 panchayat seats are set to take place next week
The Arunachal Pradesh State Election Commission’s Secretary, Nyali Ete, announced that the byelections for 130 Gram Panchayat seats and one Zila Parishad constituency would take place on July 12.
According to Nyali Ete, out of 130 seats, 102 were won by the BJP unchallenged, while 14 were won by candidates from the Congress, National People’s Party (NPP), and independent groups.
“Now by-election to 14 Gram Panchayat seats and one Zila Parishad constituency will be held on July 12,” he added.
All of the panchayat seats in the districts of Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng, Pakke Kessang, Kamle, Upper Subansiri, West Siang, Upper Siang, Namsai, Siang, Lower Siang, Tirap, Changlang, and Longding have been won by BJP candidates without any opposition.
In Kurung Kumey, the BJP won five seats without facing any opposition, and the NPP took home one seat.
While the BJP won all four of the other gramme panchayat seats in Kra Daadi, the Congress was able to win the Gangte-I seat unopposed.
Pema Khandu, the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, praised everyone for voting for 102 BJP candidates in bye-elections without facing any opposition.
“Congratulations and thanks to all karyakartas, supporters and sympathisers for electing 102 @BJP4Arunachal candidates unopposed in bye-elections to 130 Gram Panchayat Constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh,” Khandu tweeted.
The people of Arunachal Pradesh, according to Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, have complete faith in the Chief Minister’s leadership and his persistent efforts to meet their needs.
“People of Arunachal Pradesh have full faith in the leadership of Pema Khandu ji who is working tirelessly to fulfill the aspirations of the people and implement the visions of PM Narendra Modi Ji to develop North-East,” Rijiju said in a tweet.
