Arunachal: Tawang District Reviews Developmental Progress: DC Stresses Timely Implementation and Waste Management

Northeast Desk, 29th August: The Tawang district administration convened its 2nd District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) meeting today at the DC office conference hall to assess the progress of ongoing developmental activities. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kanki Darang, focused on the evaluation of various schemes, including Centrally Sponsored Schemes, state-funded programs, and flagship initiatives in the region.

Key officials in attendance included Superintendent of Police DW Thongon, Additional Deputy Commissioners LW Bapu and Hakraso Kri, and Executive Engineers from various departments. Each department presented its progress and accomplishments through detailed PowerPoint presentations, highlighting the strides made in the district’s development.

Deputy Commissioner Darang underscored the importance of geotagging projects and the timely submission of utilization certificates, noting that delays in these processes can impede the continuation of funding. While he praised the quality of work achieved thus far, he also urged departments to sustain these standards and to expedite efforts during the remaining period of favorable weather before winter sets in.

In addition to infrastructure and project management, DC Darang addressed the critical issue of waste management within the district. He called for the use of compost pits for kitchen waste and encouraged a reduction in plastic usage, emphasizing the need for sustainable practices in maintaining Tawang’s environmental health.

The meeting concluded with a call for enhanced coordination among departments to ensure the successful and timely implementation of all ongoing projects in Tawang.
