Arunachal: Tirap District Celebrates Vibrant Ronghuan Festival with Cultural Extravaganza
Northeast Desk, 30th September: The Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh came alive this week with the vibrant celebrations of the Ronghuan festival, a three-day cultural extravaganza that brought together the Nocte and Tutsa communities. Participants from over 40 villages across the region gathered to join the festivities, showcasing the district’s rich cultural heritage.
The festival’s opening ceremony began with a traditional blessing conducted by a local priest, symbolizing the spiritual foundation of the event. Arunachal Pradesh IPR Minister Nyato Dukam attended as the chief guest, alongside Cabinet Minister *Wangki Lowang, MLAs *Chakat Aboh and *Hamjong Tangha, and Zilla Parishad Chairperson *Chathong Lowang.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu highlighted the festival’s importance in promoting cultural diversity and unity, sharing his appreciation on social media. “The Ronghuan festival beautifully reflects the cultural richness and social harmony of our state,” Khandu remarked, commending the efforts of the *Ronghuan Festival Committee, led by president *Telliap Hallang and secretary Hangrang Bangsia, for organizing the event.
With its vibrant performances, traditional attire, and community participation, the Ronghuan festival has reaffirmed its place as a cornerstone of cultural pride in Tirap. The event not only celebrates heritage but also fosters a sense of togetherness among the diverse communities in Arunachal Pradesh.
