Arunachal: Tomo Riba Hospital Under Scrutiny Following Infant’s Tragic Death
Itanagar: A cloud of grief and fury has descended upon Arunachal Pradesh following the tragic demise of an infant at the state’s premier medical institution, the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS).
The incident, which has sent shockwaves across the community, has stirred allegations of severe medical negligence against the hospital staff. The child, barely a year old, was brought to TRIHMS with a seemingly manageable fever.
However, instead of the expected course of treatment, the young one was reportedly administered a cocktail of medicines, including a sleeping injection, which the family claims triggered an immediate adverse reaction.
Following the injection, the infant’s condition deteriorated rapidly, leading to bouts of violent vomiting. With the baby’s health spiralling downwards, the hospital authorities reportedly suggested a transfer to a facility in Dibrugarh for specialized care.
A race against time began as the distressed parents set off with their child, but the infant tragically succumbed to the complications en route, failing to reach the destination. The inconsolable family, supported by local residents, has come forward with strong accusations of gross negligence against the attending nurse and doctors, demanding a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter.
The public outcry has been palpable, with many calling for swift justice and accountability for those responsible. As of now, no official statement has been released by the authorities, leaving the community awaiting answers and a clear course of action.
