Arunachal’s Jang Football Turf Receives FIFA Quality Certification, CM Khandu Announces 2nd Tawang Marathon

Northeast Desk, 5th October: The football turf at the Outdoor Stadium in Jang, Tawang district, Arunachal Pradesh, has achieved a major milestone by being tested and certified to the “FIFA Quality Programme for Football Turf – FIFA Quality” standard. The certification by FIFA is aimed at enhancing the region’s football infrastructure and promoting sports culture.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu celebrated the achievement on social media, emphasizing that the certification of Jang’s football turf is a testament to the state’s dedication to fostering the growth of football. “We believe that good infrastructure will pave the way for nurturing young talent and elevating sports culture in the region,” the Chief Minister said.

In related news, Chief Minister Khandu also announced that the much-anticipated second edition of the Tawang Marathon will take place on October 24, 2024. He invited runners from across the nation to experience the thrill of racing at 10,000 feet above sea level. Jointly organised by the Indian Army and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, the Tawang Marathon offers participants a unique opportunity to run amidst the majestic landscapes of the region, often referred to as the “land of mystic mountains.”

These recent developments reflect Arunachal Pradesh’s commitment to improving sports infrastructure and encouraging participation in athletic events, aiming to establish the state as a hub for sports enthusiasts.
