Arunachal’s Pangin BJP Mandal Condemns Attack on Minister, Vows Development and Party Discipline
LILENG — The 35th Pangin BJP Mandal held a high-stakes meeting on June 3 at Lileng village, led by Mandal President Tani Taki, to address a range of urgent political and developmental concerns. The gathering, attended by senior party members, came at a time of heightened tension in the region following a violent incident involving a local minister.
A major resolution passed during the meeting was the strong condemnation of the attempted mob lynching of local MLA and Arunachal Pradesh Minister Ojing Tasing on May 27. The Mandal denounced the actions of the protestors as unacceptable and unlawful, asserting the importance of upholding democratic norms and ensuring the safety of elected representatives. The incident has sparked serious concerns over law and order, with party leaders stressing the urgent need to deter such acts of violence.
Amid growing unrest, the Mandal also turned its attention inward, declaring a zero-tolerance policy against any member involved in anti-party or anti-developmental conduct. The resolution served as a clear message that discipline and loyalty would be strictly enforced to preserve party unity and reinforce the BJP’s development-first agenda in the region.
At the forefront of the meeting’s developmental agenda was the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project, which has recently been granted National Project status. Recognising its long-term significance, the Mandal resolved to push forward with the Pre-Feasibility Report and initiate a region-wide awareness campaign. This initiative aims to educate affected communities on the project’s benefits, with senior leaders expected to lead outreach efforts to build public consensus.
In a further move to strengthen governance, the Mandal appealed to the state government to take stern action against government officials and honorarium holders who defy official orders or instigate anti-developmental narratives. This, the Mandal stated, is essential to creating an accountable administrative environment that supports progressive infrastructure and welfare initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to stability, growth, and grassroots engagement. By addressing security concerns, reinforcing party discipline, and championing strategic projects, the Pangin BJP Mandal has outlined a proactive roadmap for political resilience and regional development in Siang district.
