Arvind Kejriwal Accuses BJP of Orchestrating ‘Operation Jhaddu’ to Target AAP Leaders

National Desk, 19th May: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of launching ‘Operation Jhaddu’ to undermine his party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Kejriwal made these allegations during a rally at DDU Marg in Delhi, where he addressed supporters ahead of a planned protest march to the BJP headquarters. Several top AAP leaders were present at the rally.

Kejriwal’s accusations against the BJP come in the aftermath of the arrest of his former Personal Assistant, Bibhav Kumar, in connection with an alleged assault on AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Kejriwal claimed that the BJP intends to apprehend all prominent AAP leaders and freeze their bank accounts following the 2024 general elections. He asserted that neither gold nor money has been confiscated from him and accused the BJP of fabricating false cases to target AAP leaders.

Meanwhile, Bibhav Kumar, facing charges in the assault case, has been remanded in police custody for five days by Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court. Prior to his arrest, Kumar had communicated via email to the Delhi Police, expressing his willingness to cooperate in their investigation into Maliwal’s assault claim and urging them to consider his counter-complaint.

Kumar has filed a counter-complaint against Maliwal, alleging ‘unauthorised entry’ into the CM’s Civil Lines residence and ‘verbal abuse’.
