Arvind Kejriwal Issues 1st Government Directive from Custody
National Desk, 24th March: Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, currently in Enforcement Directorate custody in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case, has reportedly issued his first directive to the government, according to sources from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The directive is related to the Water Ministry, with further details expected to be disclosed by Delhi Minister Atishi in a press conference scheduled for 10 am today.
Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 under anti-money laundering laws, following searches at his official residence in the Civil Lines area of Delhi.
He remains in Enforcement Directorate custody until March 28 for further interrogation regarding his alleged involvement in the liquor scam.
Despite his arrest, Kejriwal has not resigned from his position as Chief Minister. AAP leaders have affirmed that he will continue to discharge his duties as the Delhi Chief Minister, even if it requires governing from jail, as he has not been convicted.
