Aryamitra Nath Honoured with Defence Minister’s Medal for Exceptional NCC Dedication and Mountaineering Feats
Morigaon: Aryamitra Nath, a young achiever from Soraibahi village in Morigaon district, has been honoured with the prestigious Defence Minister’s Medal by Rajnath Singh.
This recognition celebrates Aryamitra’s outstanding contributions to the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and his remarkable achievements in mountaineering.
Born on December 17, 2002, to Himkalyan Nath and Anima Devi, Aryamitra has consistently showcased his commitment to public service.
After completing his education at Sankardev Vidya Niketan, Chanakya Junior College, and Morigaon College, Aryamitra underwent advanced mountaineering training.
His accomplishments include the Basic Mountaineering Course at ABVIMAS, Manali, and the Advanced Mountaineering Course and Methods of Instruction course at NIMAS, Dirang.
Through various Himalayan expeditions, he has mastered the precision and endurance required for mountaineering.
Aryamitra’s courage was on full display on March 5, 2024, when he rescued victims of a road accident near Morigaon.
As a mountaineering instructor and a member of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), his swift response highlighted his dedication to saving lives.
Guided by ANO Lieutenant Samujjal Saikia, Aryamitra’s leadership and commitment to the NCC have been exemplary.
The Defence Minister’s Medal, awarded on the eve of Republic Day, has been celebrated by the people of Morigaon and Assam, who take pride in Aryamitra’s achievements and contributions.
