Ashwini Vaishnaw: Sikkim to Get 5G Services Before 15th August
Guwahati: The 5G network in Sikkim will be operational before August 15 of this year, according to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s statement on March 6.
While speaking at a function at Samman Bhawan Gangtok to celebrate the launching of a special postal cover on “Go Green, Go Organic,” he remarked this.
Green your life In honour of Sikkim’s accomplishment as an Organic State, the Union Railway Minister introduced the Go Organic’s unique postal cover at Samman Bhawan Gangtok on March 6 in the morning.
Vaishnaw arrived in Sikkim on March 5 to unveil a unique postal cover using the slogan “Go, Green, Go Organic”. During his visit to the state’s, he inxpected the proposed rail link between Sevoke and Rangpo which will connect Sikkim with the rest of the nation.
Also, he looked over the setup at Sevoke’s railway junction and gave the go-ahead for making it a gateway to Sikkim.
It is important to note that Sikkim is now only connected to the outside world via road (NH 31A) which is subject to periodic monsoon disruptions and very steep slopes.
Increasing traffic demand places a lot of strain on the road increasing the risk of damage and the difficulty of the trip. Nonetheless, a reliable and convenient transit infrastructure will be offered through rail link.
The project is crucial to satisfying defence needs and will eventually provide connectivity to Gangtok and later, the Indo-China Border (i.e., up to Nathula Pass).
Additionally, Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Sunday, March 5 that the Lachung village had been chosen as part of the Center’s “Vibrant Village Programme,” which placed an emphasis on the construction of infrastructure in border villages.
Vaisnhaw who is in Sikkim for three days will be visiting Lachung in the Mangan District of northern Sikkim.
