Guwahati, 26th October: Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) has filed an FIR against Badruddin Ajmal, the current Lok Sabha member and owner of a perfume business, accusing him of making derogatory remarks about the Muslim community.
The AJP alleges that Ajmal’s statements have caused social unrest by suggesting that a majority of rapists, dacoits, thieves, and robbers come from the Muslim community.
He additionally claimed that Muslim girls whistle at boys passing by.
These comments have sparked outrage within the Muslim community in the state, with many accusing him of insulting both Muslims and women with his disparaging statements.
The AIUDF chief is facing criticism from various quarters for his controversial remarks, which are believed to have heightened tensions within the community.
