Assam: 1 killed, 2 injured as overloaded truck turns turtle in Morigaon
Guwahati, 30th April: In a tragic incident, one individual lost his life with two others sustained serious injuries after a road accident in Morigaon district of Assam on April 30.
The incident took place in Mikirgaon village in Marigaon subdivision under Mikirbheta Police Station.
As per sources, the accident occurred after an overloaded vehicle carrying bricks veered out of control and crashed.
Sources further informed that the overloaded vehicle was coming from the notorious 3star brick kiln in Mikirgaon.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was intended to transport 1000 bricks but was overloaded with 1500 bricks, significantly heightening the risk of an accident.
The excess load likely contributed to the driver losing control, leading to the vehicle overturning on the road.
Following the incident, one occupant identified as Izazul Haque found himself trapped beneath the wreckage and tragically succumbed to his injuries before someone could help him.
Despite the immediate response of locals, their efforts proved futile as Haque lost his life in the accident.
The two other occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries in the crash but managed to survive. They were immediately rushed to Morigaon Civil Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
This incident sheds light on the concerning proliferation of illegal brick kilns in Morigaon district, raising alarm over the frequency of accidents stemming from their operations.
Authorities are urged to take decisive action to address the hazardous conditions posed by these illicit establishments before further lives are needlessly lost.
