Guwahati: In a disaster calamity, one person died after a massive storm in Sivasagar district of Assam.
The incident was reported from Nazira.
The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Bablu Saura.
According to reports, he was a daily wage labourer at the Santok tea garden.
As per locals, Bablu had gone for fishing in a nearby lake early on Saturday morning. A strong storm began to blow while he was fishing, and a branch from a large tree fell on him. Bablu was dead on the spot.
Meanwhile, tThe storm this morning also caused disruptions to daily life in Santok. Trees have been uprooted, electric posts have been shattered, and several houses have been entirely demolished.
