Assam: 11 Bangladeshi Citizens Detained in Biswanath are Jailed

Guwahati: Officials said on Sunday that 11 of the 17 Bangladeshi nationals who were detained in Behali in Assam’s Biswanath district on Saturday had been jailed.

The Jingia Police detained the Bangladeshis at Baghmari on the Brahmaputra’s banks.

They reportedly crossed the border into India at Cooch Behar. To enter India, they had traveler’s visas.

According to officials, a religious guru and six other people were given two days in police custody.
The individuals who were giving the gang sanctuary, Shamsul Ali and Zehirul Haque, have also been detained by the police.

They are currently being questioned by the special branch of the Assam Police, according to officials.

They allegedly visited various holy sites all around India, it should be emphasised. Additionally, they allegedly planned religious gatherings in a number of locations, including Delhi, Ajmer Sharif, etc.
According to the police, the individuals began camping in Biswanath on September 13.
