Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs more than 100 bighas of huge illegal Opium cultivation were destroyed in Assam’s Goalpara district.
In an operation of three days against drugs the Goalpara police raided & destroyed 110 bighas of huge illegal Opium cultivation at Balikachi-Sitalmari Char.
The area comes under the Chunari Police Station.
Sharing the news on Twitter Goalpara Police wrote, “ In a span of 3 days, #TeamGoalpara again raided & destroyed #110Bighas of huge illegal #OpiumCultivation at *Balikachi-Sitalmari Char* of Chunari PS. We are determined to hit on #FinancesOfNarcoTrad#WarOnDrugs.”

Legal action has been taken and further investigation is underway.
