Assam: 14.9-Feet Long Burmese Python Rescued In Baksa

Guwahati: A python of 14.9 feet long was recovered by the locals in Baksa district of Assam.

Reportedly, the python was weighing around 100kg.

Later, the locals informed the rescue team of Manas Maozigendri Eco-tourism society and also informed the forest department about it.

Moreover, while measuring the python it was found to be14.9 feet or nearly 4.5 metres long.

However, later the rescue team released the python into the wild at Manas National Park.

The Burmese python, one of the biggest species of snakes, is designated as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.

It is indigenous to a considerable portion of Southeast Asia.
