Assam: 16 Illegal Bangladeshi Nationals Apprehended in Guwahati
Assam: In a successful operation, the South Salmara-Mankachar Police intercepted 16 illegal Bangladeshi nationals, including 7 men, 4 women, and 5 children, in Guwahati.
The individuals, who had arrived in the city from Bengaluru by train, were apprehended due to suspicious circumstances surrounding their onward movement towards the South Salmara-Mankachar district.
Sources indicate that all the apprehended individuals were staying at a local resident’s house.
Following thorough investigation, authorities confirmed the Bangladeshi nationality of all the detained individuals.
Those apprehended include Zakir Sk, Md Mehdi Hasan, Rumana Aktar, Md Rizwan Hawaldar, Jamal Sk, Beauty Begum, Munni Begum, Nushrat Zahan, Rustom Sk, Rubel Qureshi, Chand Mia, and five children.
The apprehended individuals are currently being repatriated back to Bangladesh through established procedures. This successful operation underscores the vigilance of the South Salmara Police in addressing unauthorized cross-border movements.
