Assam: 16-Year-Old Tennis Prodigy Snigdha Patibandla Triumphs at AITA Girls Championship Series 7
Sports Desk, 27th October: In an impressive display of skill and determination, 16-year-old Snigdha Patibandla, hailing from Assam, emerged victorious in the Singles title at the All India Tennis Association (AITA) Girls Championship Series 7 held at Baidyanath Prasad Tennis Academy in Delhi.
Snigdha’s journey to the championship was nothing short of remarkable. She started by overcoming the tournament’s top seed, Prisha Prasad, with a convincing score of (6-4/6-0). She continued her winning streak in the semi-finals, defeating the 3rd seed, Ridhima Mishra, with a scoreline of (6-3/6-2). In the finals, Snigdha outshone the 2nd seed, Navy Dabas, with another impressive victory at (6-2/6-2).
Born in Dibrugarh, Assam, Snigdha Patibandla received her education at Don Bosco Guwahati. Her father, Dr. P. Ashok Babu, has a notable service record, having served as ADC in Dibrugarh and as DC in Dhemaji and Nagaon. He currently holds the position of Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
Coaches Hemant Kumar and Mahima Choudhary, who have been instrumental in Snigdha’s training, expressed their confidence in her immense potential and anticipate that she will continue to make waves in the world of tennis in the days to come.
