Guwahati: In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an electrician in Assam’s Lower Majuli district.
As per reports, the incident took place when the accused identified as one Sunil Patir was called to the victim’s house for some work.
The accused returned to the victim’s house two days later when no one else was at home except for the victim and reportedly raped her by covering her mouth.
When the girl yelled out for help, her neighbours rushed to her aid and apprehended the culprit.
Later, the neighbours beat up the accused and handed him over to the police.
Meanwhile, the accused admitted to his crime during interrogation.
