Assam: 19 Sacks Full Of Empty Cartridges, Live Ammunition Recovered In Tinsukia

Guwahati: As many as 19 sacks full with live ammo and empty cartridges were unexpectedly found in a trash yard in Tinsukia district of Assam on Thursday, shocking authorities and throwing them into a frenzy.

According to reports, the seizure took place during a search conducted in the Naupukhuri area under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Hiranya Kumar Bora.

The owner of the dumpyard, namely Birendra Shah, has been detained in relation to the event, and a charge under the Arms Act has been filed.

Police started an inquiry after the seizure to find out where the live ammo and spent cartridges came from.

During the inquiry, some stolen motorcycle components and merchandise from Oil India Limited (OIL) were also recovered.
