Guwahati: As many as two dacoits were arrested after clash erupted between the police and dacoits in Goalpara district of Assam.
The incident took place at Tiplai in Goalpara on Thursday night.
Based on particular information, the police stopped a vehicle with the licence plate AS22F5594 that was being driven by a group of four dacoits in Tiplai’s Kahibari at around 11 p.m.
The robbers resorted to open fire on the police sensing danger. After the gunfight, two robbers were able to escape the area.
Meanwhile, the police arrested two robbers who have been identified as Sanidul Islam and Baharul Islam.
Reportedly, no police officers were injured during the gunfight.
