Assam: 2 more gazetted officers to appear before CID today in APSC scam probe
Guwahati, 2nd Jan: The probe into the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) scam continues as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) summons one gazetted officer after another. Notably, several gazetted officers have already faced arrests and suspensions as part of the SIT investigation, while others are currently under interrogation.
Today, two gazetted officers, Nandini Kakati and Chakradhar Deka, accused of irregularities in their professional paths, are scheduled to appear before the CID office. There are allegations that Kakati’s two copies have not been received, raising suspicions, while Deka faces accusations of manipulating exam results.
The interrogation of Kakati and Deka holds significance, as it remains uncertain whether they will be arrested or allowed to go after questioning. This development raises the broader question of whether some gazetted officers will be released only after explaining their involvement in the alleged irregularities or if arrests will follow such interrogations. The APSC scam investigation continues to unfold with each summons and revelation.
