Assam: 2 Teens Rescued After Getting Swept Away In Floodwaters, 1 Missing
Guwahati: In a tragic incident, as many as three teenagers has been swept away by heavy currents of water in Nagaon district of Assam on Sunday.
The incident took place at Bokabil in the Barpujia village in Raha of the district.
According to reports, the state disaster response force (SDRF) was called in after three boys were swept away in flood waters there.
Two of the three youngsters were saved as a result of an operation carried out by the SDRF. Officials said that they barely survived.
They said, “But one of them is still missing.”
The missing teenager has been identified Bhupen Bordoloi. He is 17 years old.
The SDRF declared that they would continue their search for the missing youth.
It may be noted that numerous areas of Assam are still underwater after the state experienced significant rainfall over the last month, causing landslides and induced floods.
According to a report from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the number of people who have died as a result of catastrophes has reached 121 so far, with four more deaths occurring in the past day.
