Guwahati, 8th September: A heartbreaking incident occurred in Assam’s Chirang district, where a 20-year-old man lost his life after being struck by lightning while he was sleeping in his house. The incident took place in the Ankorbari area during a heavy downpour on Thursday night.
The victim, identified as Bijoy Maduwa, was in a deep slumber when lightning struck, resulting in his instant demise. His lifeless body was discovered by family members on Friday morning, who promptly notified the authorities.
Local police and the district magistrate arrived at the scene, recovering the body for post-mortem examination.
This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with lightning during thunderstorms and the importance of taking precautions during adverse weather conditions.
