Assam: 22 Buffaloes Recovered in Cachar

Guwahati: As many as 22 buffaloes were rescued in the Cachar district of Assam on Thursday.

According to reports, the vehicle, with the licence plate ML04 A 8824 was travelling from Barak to Bangladesh via Meghalaya when it was stopped in Cachar.

Larios Sieh and Silas Labre, both from Meghalaya’s Khliehriat were arrested by the police in connection with the seizure.

Earlier, the police have been successful in rescuing cow heads and buffaloes from smuggling.

A few months ago, 32 buffaloes were taken from the BG Yard in Bamunimaidam by the New Guwahati Railway Police. The buffaloes were transported by train from New Delhi to the state.
