Guwahati: At least 24 cattle heads seized and two arrested in the connection in Assam’s Nagaon district on Thursday.
The arrestees identified as 22-year-old Merajul Islam, a resident of of Geruamukh in the Khatowal area and 33-year-old Saiful Islam hailing from Baijagaon in the Samaguri area.
Following a tip-off from sources, the police officials intercepted a truck and seized the cattle heads.
According to reports, they were arrested from Uriagaon when they were on their way to smuggle out the cattle heads.
Meanwhile, the police further seized the truck.
It may be mentioned that a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
