Assam: 27 packets of Brown sugar recovered, 2 held

Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs Assam Police arrested two suspected drug peddlers in Karimganj district of the state.

The two arrestees were identified as Saif Uddin and Taj Uddin. Both are the resistance of Tripura’s Dharmapur.

Following a tip-off, the police officials launched a search operation and recovered around 27 packets of suspected brown sugar inside the bonnet and tyre of an Alto car with the registration numbered TR 05- D -0625 on ohe Pamphedi Patharkandi Bypass.

The police officials informed that the vehicle was om its way to Dharmanagar in Tripura from Ashimganj in Patharkandi.

The market price of the recovered drugs is around 20 lakhs.

Police further informed that the both the accused have been interrogated by the officials.Legal action has been initiated into the matter by the Patharkandi police.
