Assam: 3 arrested with drugs by State Police in Karimganj
Guwahati, 2nd July: In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, Karimganj police conducted a successful raid resulting in the seizure of narcotics valued at lakhs of rupees. The operation, which targeted suspected drug dens, uncovered a stash of heroin cleverly concealed inside soap boxes amidst an array of innocent water bottles.
During the raid, officers discovered a suspicious house in Karimganj filled with heroin packaged in five soap boxes. This find was part of a broader effort by Patharkandi police, who simultaneously conducted searches in Ilashpur village under the Patharkandi police station. Their operation yielded additional heroin packaged similarly in soap boxes, alongside the confiscation of nine mobile phones.
The investigation centered around the residences of Mohammad Zakaria, Bahar Uddin, and Abdul Manaf, father of notorious drug peddler Amir Uddin. Law enforcement officials apprehended all three individuals in connection with the seized narcotics and electronic devices. Currently, Mohammad Zakaria, Bahar Uddin, and Abdul Manaf are undergoing intensive interrogation to further the investigation.
This successful operation underscores the relentless efforts of Karimganj police in combating drug trafficking and ensuring public safety in the region. Authorities continue to remain vigilant against such illicit activities, aiming to curb the influence of narcotics on local communities.
