Assam: 3 detained in Chatribari murder case in Guwahati

Guwahati: Assam Police detained three persons in connection with the Chatribari murder case in Guwahati.

The three accused were identified as Ismail Ali, Abbas Ali, and Akash Ali.

According to reports, a team from the Paltan Bazar Police Station is on its way to Kharupeta to take them in custody.

The incident took place on Monday in which a businessman named Avdesh Yadav was shot dead by bike-borne assailants near his residence.

The reports claimed that Avdesh was shot in the chest three times at a point-blank range.

However, he was immediately rushed to the Marwari Maternity Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

The assailants managed to escape the crime spot after shooting Yadav. However, they left their bike and mobile phones at the spot and after initiating an investigation into the matter, the police found that the bike was registered with the name of one Mohammad Abbas who hails from Darrang district in Assam.

It may be mentioned that Avdesh Yadav was a resident of Bihar and residing in Guwahati for the last six months. There were claimed that Yadav was killed due to personal enmity and business rivalry.

It needs to be noted that, reportedly his elder brother was also shot dead in Bihar last year.
