Assam: 3 women arrested with Drugs in Bongaigaon

Guwahati, 4th November: In a significant operation conducted by the Government Railway Police (GRP), a huge quantity of drugs, weighing 15 kilograms was seized from Tripuri Sundari Express train number 14619 on November 3.

The drugs were found concealed within common food packaging, including biscuit, Maggi, and chips packets.

The operation took place at New Bongaigaon railway junction, where a team of GRP, led by Sanjeev Chaudhary, apprehended three women and five children who were in possession of the illicit substances.

These women, reportedly from Bihar, have been detained and the seized drugs will be used as evidence in the ongoing legal proceedings.

This successful operation by the Government Railway Police demonstrates their commitment to tackling the illegal drug trade within the region’s transportation infrastructure.

Such vigilant efforts are vital to curbing drug-related activities and maintaining the safety and integrity of the railway system.
