Assam: 300 former AASU members join BJP
Guwahati, 13th December: A significant development unfolded as 300 former AASU workers today embraced the BJP in a grand joining ceremony at Vajpayee Bhawan in Guwahati. The day commenced with a massive bike rally led by ex-AASU leader Dibyajyoti Medhi, stretching from Khanapara to Vajpayee Bhawan, culminating in the workers officially joining the BJP.
Adding to the political dynamics, former Raijor Dal leader Kamal Kumar Medhi, previously associated with AAP, Congress, and Raijor Dal, is anticipated to formalize his entry into the BJP. This move is set to diversify the party’s support base.
In a show of unity, BJP president Bhabesh Kalita, alongside Minister Pijush Hazarika, participated in the joining program at Vajpayee Bhawan. This collaboration underscores the strategic alliances shaping the political landscape in the region.
Further intensifying the political flux, Arkashish Chalihayo, the son of former Congress MP Kirip Chaliha, is also expected to make the transition to the BJP during this momentous joining ceremony.
