Assam: 4 arrested for cattle smuggling
Guwahati: Assam Police arrested four persons in connection with cattle smuggling in Meghalaya.
The arrestees were identified as Abdul Mutalib of Rupohihat, Mustafa Ahmed of Rupohihat, Abdul Hasim of Samuguri and Imrajul Islam of Samuguri.
In separate operations by East Guwahati Police Department from Sonapur Police Station and Basistha Police Station at Jorabat Outpost incepted illegal cattle movement and arrested the four accused at Toll Gate and Jorabat.
According to reports, the accused were smuggling 38 cows in a truck with the registration number AS01DD2168 from Nagaon to Nine Mile and Meghalaya respectively.
The Police further seized the truck.
Legal action has been taken into the matter and further investigation is underway.
