Guwahati: Amidst the celebration of Rongali Bihu, a fatal accident took place on a bridge over Manah River under Manikpur police station in Bongaigaon district.
On National Highway 31, a Maximo vehicle registered with the number AS 26 C 8331 was hit by a truck which is registered with number JK 09 B 0313 from behind.
The Maximo vehicle was coming from Panbari and met with the accident when it was travelling to Garaimari after renting a soundtrack for Bihu’s concert when a speeding truck rammed into it from behind.
According to sources, at least four persons in the Maximo vehicle were seriously injured in the accident.
Meanwhile, the injured were rushed to Manikpur Mahatma Gandhi Adarsh Hospital for further treatment.
Among the four, three were identified Makibul Sikdar (22), Lachit Narjari (23), Viraj Basmutari (26) respectively.
It may be mentioned that Police have reached the spot and investigation is underway.
