Guwahati: Continuing the drive against cattle smugglers, sleuths of Assam Police rescued as many as 40 cattle heads from Golaghat district on Sunday night.
According to reports, the cattle heads were rescued from a truck.
The truck was en route Samaguri from Rajabari when it was intercepted.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle has been arrested in connection to the seizure.
The arrestee identified as Musharaf Hussain.
Further investigation is on.
It may be mentioned that Assam police has been successfully thwarting several such cattle smuggling bids across the state.
